eMpTy. N

If I could rate MTN honestly it would definitely be a negative number. It started late 2015 with airtime dissappearing from my phone just after loading it. I obviously phoned the call-centre and I was reassured that they would investigate further and get back to me. It carried on for months up to the point where I just didn't bother anymore. I have been a Mtn customer for more than 10 years and now frankly I can't wait for my contract to be terminated. Little did I know that was just the beginning, there was worse to come. This year May I started receiving anytime minutes to my phone which I didn't purchase. I phoned again but the only advice was that there's nothing Mtn could do. I would have to pay for it and launch a complaint for yet another investigation. They assured me it won't happen again. It carried on up to August there I was with more then 6000 anytime minutes and a bill of Roughly R7000. I now started getting phonecalls and messages from threatening me with legal action. I phoned explained my story asked them if they couldn't reverse it as I was paying for minutes I won't use or asked for having a top-up contract . After paying them I was reassured this would never happen again. On the 21St October I was so shocked too learn that all the anytime minutes are gone I paid for minutes I never used. When will this *******ion end eMpTy...N?

Good day Hayley Thomas Jansen,

Thank you for your post.

Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience experienced. We completely understand the frustration it has caused.

Kindly be advised that the carry over rules changed to 2 times carryover of unused inclusive airtime on the 1st of August 2016. All affected customers were provided with a 1 month notice prior to the changes coming into effect, an sms was sent on the 1st of July 2016 advising customers of the changes.

Rest assured, it is not our intention to displease you. We look forward to improving on the service delivery to you.

Regards,

Ayanda
