Easy to upgrade - certainly not
I tried to upgrade my account (N***) on 17 October 2024. I have 4 numbers linked to my account - two numbers I received Simcards for and one nothing. The 4th is not in use and I was advised to cancel it before the expiry of the contract on 16 December 2024. I spoke to a John Pillay who apparently did not complete the upgrade from MTN's side.
I have tried to call the number for queries ( I think it is 113) - no answer. I called a branch and they sort of helped. A Vuyilwe then spoke tp me and she was helpful and said she would contact me on 16 December (or around then) to complete the upgrade. No communication from her since then. On Facebook I noted an MTN advert - "It is easy to Upgrade"- I then gave my details and situation. On 20 November I was tole i would obtain feedback, Yes - you can guess - no feedback to date.
My upgrade has not been done. MTN seem to have no interest in sorting it out. I have therefore pended this complaint on Hello peter. MTN also stated that, even though i suffered financially (the new contract was cheaper than the old), they would not consider refunding anything. As my contract expired 16 December 2024 it was expected that my January 2025 debit would reflect the change - no - still the same.
I have been an MTN customer for probably 20 or so years and have never experienced this horrible level of service. I can only hope that, once MTN are aware of this complaint, that something constructive might actually happen.
