Easily the worst customer experience I've ever had
I fought with MTN's website to try and order FTTH without having to visit one of their branches for over a week. Eventually I gave up and visited their Morningside/Rivonia branch to place the order (why we can't do this at any branch also baffles me).
Finally get my order and application in, only for it to be declined. Apparently, something to do with my TransUnion Empirica score and my ID number having been added to the Shamwari ***** Database.
Phone TransUnion - no issues with my credit report. None whatsoever. Phone the SAFP, only to be told that my ID number isn't on the database. Now, I can't get my credit report e-mailed to me by TransUnion because they're vetting my FICA docs (which apparently takes 15-20 working days to, which is also ridiculous).
At this stage, MTN seems unable to do anything right. One of the largest telecommunications companies in Africa doesn't have a website that works, and isn't unable to tell me WHY MTN would land on my application being declined due to ********** activity according to TransUnion, when TransUnion themselves have confirmed (at this stage, telephonically) that there isn't even one blemish on my record.
The only reason I even find myself writing this review is because MTN has already laid the cables in my Estate. It seems going through the mission of getting approval for another supplier to come in and do this actually would've been easier.
Pathetic.
