Early upgrade?
<p>Hi</p> <p> </p> <p>Please can someone tell me why MTN deducts for an early upgrade fee if I waited 24 months before upgrading to my new contract? I wanted to completely cancel my MTN contract to move to another provider but MTN released some great deals and I opted to stay, 24 months passed and I opted for a contract that is less monthly than the previous contract. I do not understand why I got charged for a "early upgrade fee" if I waited 24 months before upgrading?</p>

Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience you may have experienced in respect to early upgrade charge.
Kindly note before an early upgrade is considered the the handset fee needs to paid or invoiced for the remainder of the 24 months that was not completed before the early upgrade processed hence the fee on the invoice for 2017-06-13.
Promo Service Fee(PSF)s is basically the cost of your chosen handset.
The total cost of the handset is broken down in to the number of months making up your contractual term (24mths) and added to your statement as PSF.

I might have phrased it wrong.
I waited a full 24 months before upgrading to my latest contract, so I did not upgrade early. Ussually I would upgrade on 20 months but this time round I waited a FULL 24 MONTHS. So why they deducting tripple the actuall amount from my account is beyond me. I waited the full 2 years and still MTN *****s me to deduct a fee the same as if i would have upgraded at 20 months.
