I am a white female (20). I did not live in the times of apartheid and always treat my fellow people with respect and kindness no matter their age, race, gender etc. Today I went to MTN in the vaalmall in Vanderbijlpark and it felt like I am living in apartheid. Except this time it felt the other way around. I was in front of the line ready to be helped and the black female behind the counter rather helped the black female behind me. I feel this is truly unfair as I was there first and had to be helped next. I had been waiting longer than 30 minutes and the black female (customer) had arrived after me. I was clearly infront of the line and was the next customer to be helped. All my white friends told me that after matric they couldn’t get a job due to them being white. It was literally told to them that because they are not black they can’t get the job. Does this seem fair to anyone? Does this sound like the loving rainbow nation everyone is talking about?
