DO NOT TAKE OUT A CONTRACT WITH MTN! YOU WILL REGRET IT!
In my attempt to apply for a housing bond, I was advised that I need to boost my credit score - the abnormal practice of making credit to obtain credit. I was advised that a cellphone contract would be a good way to start and decided to take one out with MTN.
MY LIFE HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE SINCE.
Since inception of the account, the debit orders, through no fault of my own, have been returning as unsuccessful payments. My date is set at the 25th and all my other debit orders go off perfectly fine every single month except for MTN. Nobody could tell me why this is the case so I requested a change in my billing info to have a level of control over the payment process because needless to say this was having the opposite effect on my credit report that it was intended for. Further to this I've constantly been getting notifications of my account in arrears and each time I call I receive different information from different consultants as though they are not looking at the same account. I receive a statement and pay the full balance as per the outstanding and then following month get told my account is in arrears and that the information shown on the statement doesn't show the previous arrears. I ask with tears in my eyes, and I'm serious, what kind of billing system is this? What is the point of having "ageing" on a statement if it does not reflect your full amount due? On top of that even after changing my billing info to cash, they continued trying to debit my account and whatever glitch in the system continues to return unsuccessful which obviously has now ****ed up my payment history at the credit bureau. Nobody can tell me how this is going to be fixed. Am I going to go through the next 18 months of this? I do not have the funds to buy out of this contract. I am frustrated and this close = to a mental breakdown.
I want answers please!
