Do not go with mtn
Mtn has a terrible client treatment program. Do not ever take an mtn contact over the phone unless you want a serious headache. I had a 24 month contract with them and when itt expired they decided to triple my monthly contribution. I enquired and they said I'm being charged an out of bundle rate since the contract expired but no one had contacted me to inform me that this how their contracts work. I was told I'm still liable to pay the outstanding amount but to avoid paying for the next month I could upgrade. I tried upgrading and called for weeks but my upgrade wasnt going through. I was served with another huge bill of data I didn't use nor ask for. After a year of back and forth they finally admitted their wrong doing and I came to find out they don't even handle their own contracts and the only reason I wasn't upgraded was that they needed an ID copy (imagine). The entire year my credit score was gone to the dogs, I couldn't even get credit to help bury a relative and had to go to loan sharks for help. I was asked what I wanted to do by mtn and I wanted to cancel my contract since it had been paid off and called twice to check and the consultant said she saw no contract on my name but a month later I'm slapped with a bill. I enquire and they said I should've waited for a confirmation Sms of cancelation. I tried to dispute the bill and consultant advised me to just pay it since I've fought so hard to get the bulk bill paid off, this amount won't be worth the effort. So I paid over a month ago now but they are refusing to give me a paid up letter and refusing to change my status at the credit bureau. I'm stick stuck as we speak so do yourself a favor and stay away.
