Dissatisfied service
MTN hellopeter Tableview branch. Siya Agent assisted Manager Rushana Assistant manager Thomas Via telephone to upgrade on my cellphone contract. Dual-sim requested but received a phone that isn't dual sim. Management MTN doesn't do dual sim and Siya will never state that as he knows. But that's what Siya explained when asked if phone is dual sim. If devices weren't dual sim then i wouldn't have taken it.
Today i was so disgusted by the way i was treated by the staff and management at MTN in Tableview Bayside Mall. I recently was due an upgrade on my MTN contract and decided to call them and ask which devices they have available for me. On calling i spoke to an agent named Siya. The conversation went well and he positioned a device that he thought i would like to me and then i asked him if the phone can take more than one sim card/ if it was dual-sim and he responded with a yes. I even reconfirmed with him, whether or not it was and again he said yes. So I decided okay. I'll take this device. As it had the features i wanted. Then I had a friend collect the phone on my behalf. However on the opening and excited unpacking of my new device. I discovered that the device is not dual-sim. So being upset with the fact that this Siya had **** to me. I called the store and expressed my disappointment and asked then to please take the devices back and offer me something else which had the features that was explained to me by Siya. So Siya just told me that he never said the devices were dual sim and he wouldn't say that to me. Conveniently, now that he already received commission on the sale. He had no after sales care with me. He denied ever saying that the phones were dual-sim. So I requested to speak to a manager and they handed me over to Thomas who was the assistant manager and Thomas says that Siya would never say that and that MTN doesn't do dual- sim devices. After a conversation with the assistant. I was still not happy. How can they tell me I'm lying. I'm the customer and it is my right to receive good service and to get the device with the features as they were explained to me. So I wanted to speak to the manager. Which I did. Her name is Rushana and she also did not have any care for her clients. She told me Siya would never say the things i stated that he said about the devices being dual-sim. At this point and time I felt disgusted by the way i was being treated and it just felt like none of these people cared and that i would now be stuck with a device i didnt want. So i requested and informed the manager that i don't want the phone and i will be returning it as I'm not happy. To which she rep****, you can't bring the device back unless there is something wrong with it. Now from my perspective, there is something very wrong with it. It doesn't take two sims. Which was one of my desired and expected features i asked Siya for and according to what i know, i have the right to cancel or return the device within a 7 day period. If i am not happy with it.
So why is it that the customer isn't right? And why can't they just sort me out with the right device as explained to me? Why must there be physical damage or software issues before i can return the device? I just don't want this phone! Done! Take it back and deliver on what was explained. End of story.
