Dismal service has me at a loss and ready to leave

I'm so tired and frustrated with the runaround I've had with MTN of late.

Back in 2016, I went into a branch in Sandton to update my details following a name change with Home Affairs. The consultant made copies of all the relevant documents and assured me that it was taken care of.

Recently, when trying to register on the MyContract MTN Active site, I realised that the account is still under my old name. It took me three calls and several emails to the customer service department to finally get them to actually update the details.

Despite all that, I still wasn't able to register on the MTN Active site, receiving a notification that my cellphone number is registered to another username. I've phoned through to the (separate) MTN Active call centre to have them unlock the number twice now; each time, I've been told to wait 24 hours, and that the problem would be fixed. Needless to say, it has not.

Today, when I phoned the MTN Active call centre to follow up on this yet again, I've been informed by the agent that there are now *two* names registered to the cellphone account, and thus they are unable to help me. She transferred my call back to the "credit department", where I was faced with a dead-end voice-prompt menu, and not even a chance to talk to another consultant.

I am so frustrated and upset with this whole saga. Nearly two years later, and a simple update of details has not been fixed. And, in the interim, MTN proceeds to send exorbitant bills every month, and I have no access to an itemised statement as I can't register on the website. No one is able to take responsibility, or actually step up and help me resolve any of this; it's all just reference numbers, and transfers to other departments that are just as clueless and unhelpful as the first.

MTN, I'm done. The next call you get from me will be to cancel my contract. It's just not worth the trauma anymore.
