Disgusting service from MTN as a whole
On the 4th of November 2025 my MTN home internet debit order bounced due to me forgetting to transfer funds into that account as I only use it for my MTN debit. The on the 5th of November I paid a payment to MTN via eft for the amount which bounced on the 4th.
When I later checked my balance after making a transfer I noticed that MTN had debited my account again and this time successfully, this after I already made the payment via EFT. I went to the MTN in Fourways mall to check up on my account and was told that both payments were noted and MTN would not be debiting from my account in December therefore my next debit order date would be on the 4th of January 2026. The very next day MTN switched off my Wi-Fi connection and I got an SMS saying due to none payment my Wi-Fi was switched off.
Today is the 17th of December and I have called MTN everyday since to find out what is happening but I keep getting transferred from one consultant to another with no one knowing anything. The reference number I give will literally show all the relevant information to one consultant and nothing to the next. It is so bad that I was even told by a consultant named Nelisiwe that all my personal details provided were incorrect.
I’ve been told my account was handed over, even given contact details only to be told that my Account wasn’t handed over.
I was asked to send an email of my bank statement showing the debit to the backoffice email address, Baratang Hani, and Sisipho Tabata’s email address with Sisipho confirming she sees the payment however more than 2 weeks later I have not received any comm from MTN.
Each time I call I get an email stating a ticket was opened only for my to get a closed ticket email moments later.
I’ve never been so disgusted by a service provider and all it’s employees.
I expect this issue to be resolved in 24hrs failing which I will be getting the ombudsman involved.
