Disgusting service from MTN
I went to MTN bluff Durban on Saturday 07/09/2019 to upgrade my contract *** which is one of 7 lines that I have with MTN. I arrive there and get told that I cannot upgrade as the payment(EFT) that I made of R3000 on the 03/09/2019 is still not reflecting on my account. I get told not to worry, I must just wait for the next day and they are sure it will be sorted out. The next day arrived and I had to call the store to be told that it still has not updated on the system. I then took a drive to the store a few hours later still to be told that it is not reflecting. I then Contacted MTN at the Pavillion shopping centre on the lower level and spoke to Vanessa Matthew's. She said if I pay an amount of R887. 00 which was apparently a 60day amount then I can upgrade no problem. She said some into the store and make the payment as it will reflect immediately as it's an in store payment. So I drove from the bluff to the Pavillion shopping centre. I gladly pay the R887 by card and then get told that we will just have to wait a few minutes for it to reflect. A few minutes later I then get told that I will have to come back tomorrow as there is a problem with the system and the payments are not reflecting. By this time I am irate and ask to speak to a manager. A Indian lady came over (so called manager) and basically said that there is nothing they can do as the system makes the decisions. I explained nicely to both bluff and Pavillion that I do these things on a weekend as I do not have time during the week and this upgrade was a gift for my daughter who's Birthday ia on Tuesday (and thanks to MTN I will not be able to deliver) I then asked for my R887 to be returned to me as I paid that in good faith been promised that I would be able to do the upgrade once the payment has been done in store as it will reflect immediately. They then tell me that the best they can do is do a reversal on my capitec card and their card machine they use is a absa machine which means I must now wait 2 days for my money. They tried to say that they would arrange for the phone to be delivered to me tomorrow but I know that they are once again just trying to paint a pretty picture for me as I know their tactics and the chances of anything happening tomorrow is extremely slim. They even said they would override the biometrics tomorrow to help me, however I have always been told that biometrics cannot be overridden.???? Overall the experience I have had with MTN is absolutely disgusting and I will most definately be looking at taking my business elsewhere in the future as been a customer who has 7 lines and spends 3000 - 4000 a month with them clearly means nothing. This constant story that these major organization constantly use, "oh, sorry the system generates the outcome" really needs to change. I can see why MTN has lost so many clients!!!!!
