Disgusting service...

Disgraceful and pathetic service from MTN. I have had my cell phone number for 20 years, and MTN has completely recycled and deactivated it without a single shred of warning.I was out of the country recently. Up until the 28th of July, I was actively receiving marketing and promotional emails from MTN on my MTN number to. I was even receiving phone calls from people on this exact number up until the 29th of July. On the 24th of August, while I was still out of the country, my number was completely deactivated and recycled. This is less than a 30-day window.When I contacted MTN, I was told they "cannot reactivate it." To ***** a loyal customer's 20-year-old number within a 30-day window of inactivity violates ICASA regulations. I absolutely consider this highly suspicious and a *****ulent activity on MTN's part. It bypasses consumer protection laws entirely, especially since I was traveling abroad and re**** on my line remaining secure. What's worse, I received absolutely zero warning via SMS, email, or any other channel.The only response MTN can offer me is a pathetic, lazy "sorry for the inconvenience." That is a low-blow, unacceptable excuse for stripping away my personal identity and a number tied to my life and banking for two decades. I want this escalated, a full forensic ***** investigation into how this happened, and my number returned immediately.
