Disgusting Service

I have been with Mtn for over 20 years. I have four contracts with them and pay over R2500 per month.

I renewed my phone contract on one of my phones 6months ago for a Huawei P9.

The phone was defective as it was not picking up Wi-Fi.

I took the phone back to the Mtn Umlanga Service Centre which is where I originally collected it.

I was told to take the phone for a software update to Mtn in Nandi Drive Durban which is 15km from where I live. I was told to only take the phone with my charger. I reached there only to be told that the phone is defective and in order to book the phone in....i needed the box and all assesories exactly like when i purchased the phone as the phone would be exchanged for a new as it's only 6 months old.

I drove all the way back home to fetch everything and got back to book in the phone only now to be told that the screen has a fine crack on the edge of the screen and that the warranty now falls away??

I was alarmed and questioned as to how with a fine airline crack justify the Wi-Fi being defective and not working?? I was told that's the policy but however the phone will be booked in to be assessed by the technician. We woukd only know after a few days as they were busy with a stocktake of which was fine with me.

A week later I was contacted by repair centre who then told me that my warranty was null and void due to the airline crack on the edge of the screen.

I was further told that I do have a warranty on the screen replacement which could be done at no cost to me but the Wi-Fi won't be repaired or I could opt to take a refurbished phone of which nothing will change....the warranty will stay in place and everything will be as per normall?????

I accepted this offer with no choice !

I called the call centre on Tuesday as it's home 2 weeks that I don't have my phone and was told the phone is awaiting exchange as they don't have a replacement as yet!?????
