Disgusting Service

About 3 weeks ago i took my MI4 phone back to MTN which is on contract as it just switched off & didnt want to go back on. The guy who assisted me said that most people who took that specific phone brought it back with the same problem as the motherboard gave in. If this was the case why didnt MTN recall this phone & offered their csutomers alternatives? To top it all the person who assisted me to book the phone in told me he cant give me any proof that he booked it in as everything gets done on the system, after i said i'm sorry but i dont accept that i need proof coz what if MTN tell me they never recieved my phone he gave me some paper he rpinted. The following week after booking my phone in i tried to call MTN to follow up but the call centre advised they cant assist me as only the store will know if the phone was recieved back. I asked them for a contact number for the Canal Walk store but the number i got did not work. I called MTN 3/4 times & each time recieved different numbers for the store but all of it was not operating. I eventually went into the store & was dealt with by a uncaring rude consultant. He asked me for the proof that the phone was handed in & i gave him the paper, question what would have happened if i didnt insist on proof that i booked it in? He came back to me advising the phone was collected from them but was not returned as yet. I asked him for a contact number for the branch as i dont work in canal walk & cant everytime come into the store & he very rudely told me there is a contact number but he cant give it to me as it is a walk in store & they will call me when the phone was recieved back. Since then i have not been back to MTN & i also did not receieve any call from them with feedback! In the meantime i must still continue paying my contract for a phone i do not have! I have been a customer of MTN for years now & it is a pity that they treat their longstanding & loyal customers like this.

Reviewer Update

So i called the number as was given from the reply from the MTN Complaints management team and they could not pick up my phone with the IMEI number given to them. Only after i mentioned it was i MI4 phone the guy told me they dont deal with the MI4 phones. Clearly no one not even the complaints management team at MTN is concerned with customer service as i mentioned in my initial complaint that it is a MI4 phone. Do you want to tell me that the complaints management team do not know the procedure of their own business? I refuse to phone around the whole time wasting my time as i keep on being given incorrect information by MTN. I stronlgy advise that you follow up with this yourself & get back to me with details or i will take this further to the Ombudsman.
