Disgusting, non-existant service in the Retentions/Cancellations Department

MTN are irresponsible handling a cancellation of number 083 ******* on billing account: BA******** causing me to be blacklisted.

On Monday the 18 September 2023 I requested an early cancellation of my contract for 083********** and I recieved an email back giving me the early cancellation amount. I then made payment on the 19 September 2023. Despite this, I was alarmed to discover that MTN debited my account again 2 months later. I was shocked to see this and wrote an email to MTN Retentions department. I was then issued an automated email response with reference number: 7fcc2***********. I got NO response so I decided to follow up on this matter again. I still got no response so I then decided the best thing to do is go into the MTN store. To my shock the MTN consultant looked up this issue but there was no record of this on their MTN system. She then got hold of a lady at retentions to sort out and get back to me, but still to this day has failed to contact me.

At the same time I was in the store I was looking to upgrade my business contract that I have with MTN. This also became an issue as MTN didn’t have stock of any of the laptop deal in the latest brochure. So I was sent over to Increadable Connection as I was told that they have a large range and could get them to source a laptop upgrade on the MTN business contract. Well I did that, filled in the paper work and waited the call to collect the laptop.

I heard nothing for a week so decided to go in and find out what was happening. To my shock I was told that I was put under Debt Review by MTN and therefore declined.

I have never been so irate and went over to MTN again and spoke to the same consultant who was so embarrised about this, got hold of the same lady in retentions to solve this.

I still have not heared anything from Retentions except an email servey asking me to review MTN Retention.

This is appalling service and would like to raise this issue to anyone thinking of taking an MTN contract out. Be warned.
