Disgusted Mtn customer

I recently entered into a cell phone contract with Mtn via online purchase. The salesperson advised that I would receive air time and data. To my surprise after I received the phone and then realized I do not have any data bundles I visited the Mtn shop and I was advised that I only had airtime and no data bundles. I raised my query with Mtn and was referred to their customer relations agency called Rewardsco who upon investigating my case told me that the data referred to was storage data and not data bundles. I explained my understanding of air time and data as an ordinary end user and they declined to rectify my contract even if it meant financial implications to my installments. On this day and age who wants to buy storage space when cloud and cell phones devices provide enough storage space for ordinary use. The contract was hardly two week when I raised this matter but Rewardsco refused to review my contract telling me either cancel and face cancellation fees or wait until the expiry of the contract in three years time. I have been with Mtn since 2006 and feel despondent about this lack of customer care. I am now forced to pay for a contract which does not meet my needs simply because of lack of clarity regarding the purchased services. I was simply asking Mtn to modify my contract and they refused. I don't know how many people have fallen prey to this kind of online quagmire. I am not convinced whether the 3rd Rewardsco acted in the best interest of Mtn.

Hi Ishie,
It is now a month since I raised my disappointment with yourselves and I have already paid two installments to date regardless. I thought it only proper to write to you once more and remind you that I am still waiting for your response. It would will be better if you indicate turnaround time in your responses.

Hi Ishie,
I want to acknowledge an attempt from your office to contact me last Thursday, 20 August 2020. Regrettably, I was on a video conference call which started at 11:00AM during the time when I took the call. However, I asked the caller to phone me again in an hour's time. I have been waiting for that call till today. Unfortunately I failed in my attempt to return the call. I continue to endure the pain regarding the way Mtn managed my contracting transaction.
