Disappointed
MTN just know how to ***** the customers over without the customers knowing this, so called Mega Inclusive Video Data - It means nothing you can not stream if you only have this Mega Inclusive Video Data on your phone, it require for you to load normal internet data to use the Mega Inclusive Video Data, people take note you are losing MB from your 1GB that you buy every time to something that is not working. Nice one MTN bringing the cost of buying data down but some how you still make up for it in a different way. And another thing when December kicks in your data usage get finished very quickly, another trick. So gatvol of network businesses *****ing people over.

28 Jul 2025, 09:18As i was reading reviews with No responses from MTN regarding contract cancelling, People take note of the Consumer Protection Act. In South Africa, if a network service provider refuses to cancel a contract, consumers can utilize the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) to cancel the agreement, even if it's a fixed-term contract. Consumers are required to provide 20 business days' written notice, and while they may be liable for a reasonable cancellation penalty, the fee cannot be excessive. The provider must also remind the consumer about the impending expiry date and their right to terminate at least 40 days before the end of the contract. If the provider continues to refuse cancellation, consumers can escalate the issue to the National Consumer Commission (NCC).
- Reminders from Suppliers:
- Suppliers are obligated to remind consumers about the impending expiry date of their fixed-term agreements and their right to cancel or renew at least 40 days before the end of the contract.
Escalating the Issue:
- National Consumer Commission (NCC):
- If the network service provider continues to refuse cancellation or acts unfairly, consumers can lodge a complaint with the NCC.
- NCC's Role:
- The NCC is the primary regulator of consumer-business interactions in South Africa. They assess complaints, investigate misconduct, and can refer cases to dispute resolution agencies.
