Disappointed Customer

I am so disappointed in Samsung and MTN for the way they have handled our unfortunate situation. My mother purchased her new Samsung galaxy A8 on contract about 3 weeks ago 4 days later she accidentally dropped it off the kitchen counter on to a carpeted floor and the phone completely stopped working it will now cost about R 4 000.00 to replace the LCD screen, how is it that such an expensive phone completely stops working??? Considering the screen did not crack and it had a Samsung cover and screen protector on this seems ridiculous that Samsung or MTN won’t replace the device with one of there hundreds of refurbished phones!!!

Thank you for taking time to raise your concerns with MTN.

HVRC (Repair centre) is guided by the Manufacturer’s repair ( Samsung) and assessment guidelines, in accordance with their Standards and mandate. Physical/ software damage being detected on handsets voids warranty and repairs cannot be attempted.

The handset declared physically/ software damaged cannot pass quality assurance tests due to defects that HVRC cannot ignore.

More information will be on the warranty or you can contact : *** MTN repair centre.

Regretfully we are unable to expedite the matter further.

If the phone is insured you may claim from your insurance.
