Destroying Shareholder Value

<p>Like numerous other complaints before me, I have been struggling to get MTN to cancel my voicemail function. To be clear I do not want voicemail, or the possibility for someone to be able to leave a voice message on my phone.</p> <p> I have phoned the call centre numerous times with no effect - reference number ********** 63 and ********** 8845 to name a few. I have entered ##002# numerous times with no effect. I have had a call logged to the technical department with no effect.</p> <p> After the MTN Nigerian debacle, whereby the company destroyed massive shareholder value, could this lack of desire by MTN to cancel voicemail functionality be a “ploy” to raise revenue? When one connects to voicemail, there is revenue attributable to MTN, whereas if the phone just rings, as I want it to, there would be no revenue due to MTN.</p>
