Despondent Customer at wits end
It was no longer financially viable for me to retain a contract and purchase the amount of data I was. Yet i could not cancel my contract due to the MTN strike. 3 months ago I submitted a request at the call center to cancel my contract. I was given a number to contact which didn't work. I called back and they informed me to wait 2-24 hours. The following day I was contacted by someone stating that I still have a lot of airtime which will expire if I cancel. I informed them to still proceed. I was instructed to wait a period again. Weeks passed and I called again. I was given an email address to send my request which did not work. When phoning again I was told that you can not email MTN from outside. I was told to wait again. In the proceeding time MTN deducted monies from my account twice. I filed a compliant on their website which stated I must wait 5 days, weeks has elapsed. I was emailed by someone asking why my desire to cancel and offering me an upgrade. I responded and still awaiting his response. I phoned in last week and i am still waiting meanwhile another deduction is fast approaching. Almost daily I am contacted with upgrade offers. Why the ******* practices?

Thank you for your time.
As per our conversation, the contract will be cancelled and the number converted to pre-paid today. Please allow +-2-24 hours for this function to pull through on the network. Credit for the promo fee since February will be passed to the account.
