Firstly I don't feel MTN is worthy of the one star but I can't write my review without it.
My dad passed away tragically on 24 Dec 2020. I went to Tokai MTN on 6 January to provide them with death certificate so that they could help us cancel the contract. Everything was loaded and we were told that the contract will be cancelled.
Towards the end of Jan we got the phone back from the police and much to our surprise the phone was ringing. I then went to the MTN Tokai Store again and was helped very well by a lady who reloaded everything again because it wasn't cancelled. Eventually the phone stopped ringing but we still needed to confirm whether this contract was cancelled or not.
I could not get hold of MTN customer care, I have tried a few times every week since logging this request. I am also attaching a copy of the email I sent to Customer care but it was ignored and sent to legal who is now sending letters of demand to a dead man's email address even though I have provided my contact details for this.
I feel MTN has been very insensitive to a family of a man who was a loyal customer for more than 20 years. He was so fami**** with the staff in store, they were even shocked when they saw his name on the death certificate as many of them has dealt with him before.
