Dealing with cutomer complaints.... Really?
On 1 September I submitted a complaint on 1 September 20015 regarding the service provided by MYN . It is now 9 September 2015 and save for the patronising response below I am yet to receive an explanation of why the problem arose, an assurance that it will not happen again and an unreserved apology for it having happened in the first place. I accordingly still consider this matter unresolved especially since I have on-going problems when sending sms messages.

If the response below is the norm within MTN regarding the manner in which customer complaints are handled I stand by my allegation that customer service is not 'high on its agenda'

Hello Matthewson,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

I am terribly sorry for the inconveniences experienced as a result this. I completely understand the frustration it causes. The matter has been escalated to the relevant supervisory team for urgent investigation. They will contact you directly with feedback and an action plan.

Best regards
Mantoa
REQ:***
We are truly sorry for the inconvenience caused and for the breakdown in service experienced.
We have now perused your account and see that you have a usage limit of R250.00 set on the account/billing system. The problem we foresee is that the limit is currently only set on the billing system and not on the network, hence you are not able to make calls.
We've logged a request with our back-office to investigate the matter and requested that it be resolved ASAP. The reference number for the request logged is REQ:***.
