Dead phone#MTN#Samsung#damagedphone

I took out a contract with MTN in July 2023. It was Samsung Z -Flip 4 and it was for a 3 year contract. In May this year the phone just got blank on the screen and nothing was showing. I took the phone to MTN to report it. They asked if I had insurance, to which I rep**** no. They then told me that they will not be able to fix the phone as it is past their warranty. I think they said it is 12 months. I then wrote to their complaints department. They told me that they cannot assist as the phone has damages on the outside. It has scratches on the outside that are not visible until you look for them. I cannot that MTN did not even refer me to Samsung for the 2 year warranty that the phone is under until June. I have had cellphones from 1996 and have never had a phone just stop working for me. I have never even lost a phone so this came as a complete shock for me that a phone would suddenly stop working and I get told about terms and conditions that I was never told about when I bought the phone. I am so angry and disappointed at MTN that still debits me for a phone that is not working and that I am paying over R850 every month for.
