I had no idea that having an agreement with MTN meant 1000s being taken from my bank account. Over the last couple of months my bill with MTN has been steadily increasing - even though I purposely have taken steps to limit my usage - don't call, don't text only use data - use wifi at work and use wifi at home. It hasn't really bothered me until I opened the bill for this month which claims I used R2152.87 for data! I called the customer services and the operator - Louise - tells me it is because I have used over 300 GIGS of data. 1. My phone says I have used 4.16 Gigs 2. I don't even have that much memory available on my phone (Does anybody?). I am then told it will take over a week to investigate (investigation number ***) - which is unacceptable. I want an immediate explanation of how MTN has such a huge discrepancy to what my phone says. While you are at it, please also calculate my cancellation fee - and don't just give me a total I want the reasons for the amount calculated in terms of section 14(3) of the Consumer Protection Act which specifies what a cancellation penalty may entail. Considering my usage and habits it does look like this contract is unfeasible.
