Day light ******* when you take out insurance with MTN (Under Santam) for your devices.

I cannot be more heart broken than today, I have been with MTN for 17 years and this was my very first time to claim my damage phone from the MTN's Insurance (Which they use Santam) as their insurance. I was told that your phone is covered for lost, damage or water damage, but this is not true. I have been trying to submit a claim since the 9th of January 2024 and today I received a letter that my claim has been declined. They say that my claim is decline because my number was not in the phone, i was told that the sim needs to be in the phone at all times, and it was, up until i had to buy my son another phone to use in the meantime. I am done with MTN and don't want to even hear from them, please people be very careful when taking out phones and insurance from MTN. When i called MTN to follow up on the claim, they told me (sorry, they cannot assist but give me the insurance number) i am a client of MTN and they cannot follow up or assist when you put in a claim. The sad part of all of this is, this insurance people MTN (insurance under Santam) ever even collected my phone to review or check. I was decline just like that. I work very hard for my money, and I took out the insurance to be sure that when something should happen it will be one less stress I need to worry about. This made me start to dislike MTN and Santam. I am one client that both MTN and Satam will never work with again. I will cut my losses and move on but remember what does around will come back around.
