Earlier this year I made a complaint to MTN about the their network issues in the area that I lived in, which prohibited me to make or receive good or quality calls. I was informed they were looking into the issue and technicians would get hold of me. This was never done. I could not change the provider as I was bound by the contract with mtn although I was not getting the service I needed.<br> Nonetheless, I waited for the contract to end, the 18th of April 2015, so I could keep my number and port it to Vodacom, the expiry date approached and I tried getting hold of mtn to ensure they'd cancel my contract when the day came and I called, but alas, they never picked up their lines and I was on hold for over 10 minutes each time I called. To my surprise, on the 21st I realize they had loaded the monthly airtime (R200) and 25 SMSes. I cannot believe how mtn is forcing to continue taking my money for service I had not been receiving. Is it alright for them to debit my account outside of the contract that had ended? Even though I wished not to continue and made efforts to let them know? Even though they left my complaint not attended? I am very unhappy and disappointed.
