Data contract

I took 24 data contract online but it was not mentioned I should cancel at the end of 24 months. Initially I was paying R129 so after 24 months they deducted R500plus with less data than the previous contract. I reversed money and connection was lost which was fine and they said they won't cancell until I pay outstanding balance it was a R1000plus at that time which then kept increasing but without connection.

The problem now is that the balance is now R4000 plus and I never used the data after the end of my contract and I was willing to pay the R1000 even though there was no connection meaning I was gonna be paying for the services I didn't use, I was in the process of fixing my credit score but now Mtn is killing it

How amI suppose to pay R4000plus for something I ddnt use?

I am so frustrated
