Data bundles expire

Good day

I purchased a 10Gb data bundle on 2 July 2015 and then received 5.6Gb free and was advised that the free data would expire in 15 days. It is reasonable that the promotional data would expire. But this morning 2 July 2015 the balance of my 10Gb of data which was approximately 7Gb also expired.

Not once was I told, prior to purchasing the bundle that I would have to use it in one month, had I known I would not have bought 10Gb I would have purchased 2Gb instead.

I consider this to be blatant theft. I have already lost more that R2500 in airtime to MTN when I upgraded my contract. Had I known the new strategy of MTN I would have cancelled my contract.

I request someone from MTN to contact me to resolve this matter immediately as I cannot get through to your call centre.

I have been a loyal customer of MTN for many years but I cannot remain loyal when it is clear that MTN are now *********** their customers.

Hello cleavon,

We are truly sorry for the inconvenience caused and for the breakdown in service experienced.

We can confirm that your 10GB data bundle should have been valid for 30 days and the giveback data for 15 days.

We've now taken a decision to credit your account with R2500.00 non-refundable. This credit will remain on your account and deplete your invoices for the next 4 months.

We've also now escalated the matter with the data expiring before the expiry date. We will touch base with you as soon as the matter has been investigated thoroughly.

Once again we do apologize for the inconvenience caused.

Regards
Tim
