customer Diservice helpline

So yesterday i topped up my pre-paid mtn number with 25 rands airtime at 9 in the morning. Needless to say i had left the cellphone switched off at home. I then tried to call it to locate it twice and each time it went to missed call notifications. I then went home and picked up and switched on the phone at around 14.00 hrs. An hour later i had not recieved the airtime , or a message to say i had topped up my account. I was patient till around 7 and then i called the help desk , only to be told that my airtime had been exhausted because i was on roaming. What baffled me is i was in midrand from 8 till 5 and havent left the country. I was told i was charged 10 rands a call on roaming rates to cellphone that was switched off. As for the consultants they werent prepared to hear anything i had to say, they could only tell me that I had to have been close to the border or overseas. I dont know whether midrand and kempton park are now regarded as borders ? And i have over 100 people who can vouch for me that i never left the office for more than an hour on the day. Needless to say i was then told to go on a lengthy process of contacting the ***** department and , then having to wait to find out what their investigation will bring up. I am truly disappointed with this kind of service and if you are thinking of joining the yellow revolution , I'd advise you to think twice.

Good day Yannick,

Thank you for your post.

We are terribly sorry for the inconvenience that you experienced as a result of this. We completely understand the frustration it has caused.

Our system shows that your account was not recharged with airtime yesterday 2016-07-20. On the 2016-07-16, your number was recharged with R25 airtime via me2u transfer and R15 airtime was loaded today. Please may you fax us your bank statement showing the R25 airtime purchased yesterday to ********** 772 in order to credit your number.

Rest assured, it is not our intention to displease you. We look forward to improving on the service delivery to you and to restore your faith in us.

Regards,

Ayanda

Reviewer Update

Good afternoon Ayanda

The problem was on my other number ********** , I topped it up with 25 rands airtime yesterday morning around 9.25 . I can forward the bank statement via email if you can provide me with one as i do not have a fax machine near me at the moment. I was greatly displeased with the manner in which my querry was handled, even after making it crystal clear to both agent and the supervisor that i had not left the country yesterday , she was adamant that what she saw on the system was correct.

Regards

Yannick
