Credit on account not passed, bad customer service

My wife’s contract account with MTN which I was using came to an end in November 2015. I called MTN a about 3 weeks before the contract came to an end to inform them that it will not be renewed and that I actually would like the number to be ported to another network.

The consultant told me for the number to be ported it must be moved to the Pay As You Go pool/section. This was done, the number moved to PAYG but the consultant did not advice that all airtime and data will be lost. An investigation followed after that whereby MTN took slightly more than a month to go through their recorded calls to establish whether the consultant informed me about the loss of airtime and data when moving to PAYG. This was established, the consultant never told me. MTN then offered to issue vouchers for airtime and data & I told them it will be absolutely useless cause the number was already ported to another network and that a credit on the account will suffice. Aisha Jaffar was the supervisor working on this issue and it got thrown around a couple of times. Aisha then went on maternity leave and I was told that they have to wait until she returned. The account was then handed over to collections and now with VVM.

I’ve called a number of times to have this issue resolved and MTN is either not willing or prepared to pass the credit. I managed to speak to gentleman called Moletsane on 08 July 2016 and told him everything and this was going to be raised with Aisha. Nothing is happening and in the interim this account is accumulating interest. I’m trying to get hold of Moletsane, Aisha or any other consultant and it is just a mission.

We really regret getting involved with MTN they must be the worst cellular network on the continent when it comes to customer services, they’re really bad.
