******** Credit Bureau Listing & Failure to Disclose Payment Terms – Account BA***
I am writing to log a public complaint regarding MTN's failure to address an ongoing account dispute and an ******** adverse credit bureau listing. I lodged formal internal disputes with MTN on 23 July 2026, with follow-ups on 4 August and 7 August 2026 (*** / Auto-Ack: dee441eb-8721-48d2-b9c7-9d15aa041d6b). MTN has completely ignored these submissions and failed to provide any resolution. Key Issues: Undisclosed Due Date: MTN listed a missed payment for June 2026. However, I was never informed that in-store payments carry a due date of the 20th of the month rather than the end of the month. I only discovered this policy when I verbally phoned customer service. Penalizing a customer's credit record based on an undisclosed policy violates basic CPA and NCA transparency requirements. Failure of Statutory Notice: MTN failed to provide the mandatory 20-business-day notice prior to reporting adverse data to credit bureaus (Experian/TransUnion/XDS), violating Section 72 and Regulation 19(4) of the National Credit Act. Unresolved Billing Errors: The balance includes disputed clawback charges and billing inaccuracies that MTN has refused to review. I require MTN to immediately contact their credit bureau partners to clear this negative marker from my credit profile and issue a reconciled, correct statement. If this is not rectified, formal complaints with the National Credit Regulator (NCR), ICASA, and the CGSO will proceed.
