Ever since MTN introduced this thing of giving people free minutes and data the network has been absolutely **** and highly annoying. While it takes a person almost 10-20min to get a call done the same will happen with reviving calls. Im not against the free minutes but when u can't make and recieve calls it becomes a problem. If I were to be stuck somewhere and need to call my husband how the hell am I supposed to get hold of him if there is no flipping network? Not only do the phone calls give issues but a person can't even send an sms. I tried calling the call center only to be told to reboot my phone and hope for the best..I've been using Mtn for ever now but now I think it's time to move to a different network.

We're sorry to have disappointed you with our service and can assure you that it is not our intention to dissatisfy our customers.
MTN like all other network operators have been plagued by 2 very critical issues that affect the ability to provide a service to its customers.
1. Battery theft is a harsh reality in SA. Most operators have been impacted by this ******** activity. At MTN we are replacing ****** batteries at an alarming rate and we struggling to keep up.
2. In Addition the current load shedding is putting strain on sites that do have batteries. Batteries need sufficient time to recharge and with the current load shedding this is not optimally achieved resulting in more sites going done for longer periods of time.
At the moment the battery situation is on top of our list and receiving the attention it deserves. All resources and some hired resources are deployed to replace batteries on sites that have \degraded\" (by the constant power outages)batteries and sites that have batteries ******.
