I had two contracts with mtn which were ending Feb and Jun respectively. I received a call around April for an upgrade for the one that ended in Feb, agreed to upgrade for R129 contract. Surprisingly in May mtn deducted more that they used to deduct. I called to enquire and I was told that I didn't upgrade my contract so it was charged on normal rates. I then assumed that it means the R129 agreement failed. I kept on calling since I wanted to cancel that contract but unfortunately I never reached their cancelation department and their excuse is that they are experiencing high call volume which I doubt it should be my pro6as a customer. I experienced the same deduction in June and I was still struggling to reach that department. I got fortunate at some point in June and I wanted to cancel both contracts, I was then told that I can't cancel the June contract because it is upgraded and I am expected to pay R129 per month, I then explained to the consultant that I agreed to upgrade the one that ended in Feb. He then called the office that made the transaction (conference call) after I explained my story to the lady who was the line she hang up and never Returned. I gave up and decided it's fine the consultant can continue to cancel the one that ended in Feb and leave the June one that I will pay R129 per month ? to my surprise in July R1029 was deducted from account ??? I called mtn yesterday only to learn that non of the contracts are cancel and the consultant couldn't explain why that amount was deducted because even if the contracts were not canceled the amount deducted still doesn't make sense. MTN is a ****. Why allow us to take contracts at your outlets yet cancelation can't be done on the very same outlets. It is a way of robbing people of their hard earned money. I regret the day I entered your shop.
