Contract Over billing and Poor Customer Service

I recently signed up for an upgrade with MTN. The upgrade was done telephonically with MTN Direct after i selected the device and package online and requested a call-back.

An MTN Direct Sales aget contacted me and we finalised my upgrade fro which it was a package for the amount of R739.00 x 24 months. When I checked my monthly invoices, i realised that the amount i was being charged, even before VAT was already over and above the contract amount agreed to and the package as advertised. I contacted MTN billing department and they advised they would investigate. Upon following up, I was advised that the case had already been resolved and I had been requested to provide my contact- 1. I was not contacted with any updates or request to send my contract details. 2. Surely as MTN they should have access to my contract and be able to see how the contaract was entered into and a opy of the agreement??

When i advised them thatit was done with MTN Direct they told me to contact MTN Direct on another number. I called the number i was provided with and advised that i needed to call the same people who had directed me to MTN Direct. Thereafter the agent advised they would check who my sales person was and that person would contact me.

This call was last week Thursday- i have still not received any communicatipn from MTN and they do not seem to be taking query seriously even though i have mentioned t them that they have been over billing me for 2 months and are about to over bill me again for the 3rd month.

This is absolutely unaccetable service and I woudl like my refund on the overbilling immediately!

Good day,

Thank you for finally getting back to me.

My issue is the fact that the package - which includes the 200 SMSs, 300mb of data-was sold to me for R739. In fact, we discussed a few pricing otions which would include everything and this is what we settled on. There was no mention of seperate costing for the SMSs and data. So why has it been billed seperately if it was sold to me as part of the package?

Please do confirm that these "discounts" are in actual fact going to be app**** for the duration of my contract and I will, moving forward going to be paying what i signed up for.

The insurance is not an issue because i signed up for that seperately and i am aware of the cost of the insurance, over and above the R739 mobile package.

I am looking forward to your confirmation of the correct monthly billing moving forward and the necessary credits. And to better customer service from MTN.

Regards,

Portia Rabonda
