On the 10th of December 2024 a certain lady named Hurana Phalane from MTN Hallmark contacted me and offered a laptop contract in which we went ahead with signing up. However, whilst still on a call with her she told me im in luck to get free data but i need to have an MTN sim card, of which i told her I don't have one and she even suggested i et one and she will call me ack so that I dont loose the offer of the free data. I managed to get the sim card and she indeed contacted me back and did whatever on her sim. The following day in the i notice getting 2 emails, one being for the laptop and the other for the data contract. I quickly went to the MTN outlet at Southgate mall to enquire what was going on and they told me its emails for 2 contracts. Told them i only signed up for a laptop and not for data then they advised me to contact Hallmark to have it cancelled, of which i did but couldnt go through via the number they gave me and ended up calling 135 and i asked for the data contract to be cancelled and instead they cancelled the laptop one. A few days after when i was enquiring about the delivery of the laptop i was told to my surprised that its cancelled and i only have the data active and when i requested for that to be cancelled as well i am now being told that they cant. I was sent to pillar to post trying to have this sorted out but no luck. I then noticed a debit order mandate come through for me to approve of which i declined it and in this new year i received a statement via email to for payment that will be due end of January. I then again tried numerous times calling MTN customer service trying to have this cancelled but no luck as i was told it cannot be cancelled, i need to pay the contract balance. My last resort was to come to this platform to have this sorted out as this data contract was falsely opened as there was no agreement to it. I dot need it.
