Contract Cancellation

To whom it may concern

On the 20th/05/2016 i called your call centre and spoke to a lady by the name of Mapule (ref # ********** 79) , i advised her that i wanted to cancel my contract with MTN since it was coming to end on the 25/05/2016. Also advised that i want the phones under that contract to all be on pre-paid. she assured that she was going to escalate the matter to your migration department and it will take 2 to 3 working days for the matter to be sorted. Indeed what Mapule promised happened as i received confirmation of cancellation from Thabang via email (ref # ********** 2) not being aware that only the one number was converted . On the 14/06/2016 provision was loaded on my other two numbers and i immediately called MTN to make them aware that the provision was supposed to not have been received and requested that they remove/take it back as i'm no longer on a contract ,i was then made aware that the cancellation was only for the one number and the other two numbers were still on contract ,i then requested to speak to a teamleader , i spoke to a teamleader by the name of Haseem (ref # ********** 85)who gave me his word and guaranteed me that the matter will definitely be resolved and i should not worry about it as they will cancel the contract and he'll also advise whoever about the provision, he apologised and advised that in three days’ time all my phones will be on pre-paid and my balance on zero (since i did request the cancellation on time). On the 22th/06/2016 i spoke to a teamleader by the name of Andile , just to check if what Haseem had promised previously was done, and again to my surprise my query was still not resolved , i now had to start all over again with Andile , who as well gave his word that he was going to ensure that the phones are converted to pre-paid and there won’t be any costs incurred, plus i won’t be liable for the provision that was given on the 14/06/2016 and no d/o was going to go off on the 25th/06/2016. Come the 25th/06/2016 a debit order for the amount of R390.00 goes off my bank account, Wow! i have never been so disappointed by a company i have to come to love and trust for years, all of those feelings just went out the window. i immediately reversed the d/o with my bank and called MTN on the 05/07/2016 and spoke to a Manager AGAIN by the name of Catherine Sehume (ref # ********** 54) who said she was going to escalate the amount reflecting as owing on my account to their finance department to be credited, she even said she will call me back with feedback the following day , today is the 08/07/2016 and I’m still waiting for her call. I have never been treated to badly by a service provider, the calibre of your stuff is really abhorring, customer service to them is not of a good quality value, they give you ref numbers and when you call to make follow up's you told either that ref # doesn't exist or there's no note explaining what the ref # is about. MTN you better make sure that this matter gets resolved ASAP , you dropped the ball on your side and you want me to pay for your mistake, I’m going to continue making noise about this until it gets resolved, i will be taking it to the newspapers and hello peter as well until someone fix this.

Regards

Bokang
