Contract cancellation

I am utterly disgusted with MTN contract cancellations. I paid the contract in full and the consultant said it is now prepaid. Few months later received a call saying I am receiving data as a result of the contract having a balance. I have gone in 3 times and they said the number is on prepaid. This month suddenly my account gets debited ? What a disgrace
