Contract canceled correctly WITH RECORDED PROOF - but MTN LEGAL DEMANDS R1000s

Dear MTN

I am writing this on behalf of my girlfriend, who is (was) a customer of MTN.

She had a month-to-month contract with MTN amounting to R240.00 per month.

As we have sufficient uncapped wifi at home, and she works from home, she decided to cancel the month-to-month with MTN and continue on prepaid.

She canceled the service on 28 APRIL 2024 and went along with her life....

4-5 months later, she needed to load airtime and could not, phoned MTN and was told the number was blocked and there is R1000-00 odd bucks in arrears....

She didn't have the reference number and paid the R1000-00 and asked again that the contract be canceled and the number made a prepaid number.

Fast-forward to today, and she phoned again and this time SHE RECORDED the conversation and it was confirmed the contact cancelation was requested on the 28 APRIL 2024.

So now, the legal letter of demand for the R1000-00.... why was this sent? as she has proof the contract WAS CANCELED.....

She is DEMANDING the R1000 paid BACK with interest

She is DEMANDING the number be activated on prepaid as requested.

The contract was canceled on 28 APRIL 2028 and LEGAL charged her R1000s all the way to SEPTEMBER 2024.......
