***** contract application open on my name

MTN South Africa is the worst telecom provider I’ve ever come across with the lowest class in customer service and I believe they have no clue on how to handle ***** Cases/Reports. 1. I received a notification from Capitec regarding a debit order on my account dated November 25, 2023, amounting to R3.47. Upon reviewing this transaction,I disputed it as unauthorized, as I do not have an active account with MTN, the provider that issued the order. I notified MTN of this transaction by sending an email to their Complaints division at *** with the subject line "Urgent *****ulent Alert- Service Request Number and Billing Account" on the 28h November 2023. 2. On Friday, 1 December 2023, I received multiple text message notifications from MTN informing me that I had been successfully authenticated with MTN. I later received another text notification from my bank, Capitec, regarding a debit order approval request by MTN on my account. I visited MTN offices at 135 Rivonia Road, Nedbank Head Office, seeking assistance in understanding the text messages. Ms. Madonna Isaacs, a MTN representative, informed me that a contract application was processed in my name on December 1, 2023. She then called MTN customer service, the MTN Complaints division, and was eventually transferred to the ***** Division, where she stated my case to the ***** agent to whom I also spoke, his name is Simphiwe. Simphiwe confirmed that an account had been opened in my name using a cancelled WiFi Modem contract account that I closed in August 2022. I informed him that this was *****ulent and requested that the process be halted. I also explained that the mobile contact number +***4 listed on the application form was not mine, nor was the delivery address in KZN. Simphiwe stated that the matter has been flagged as as ***** and assured me that the application would be cancelled. He also stated that if the matter was not resolved, I would be required to submit an affidavit and a copy of my ID for their investigations. 3. I also contacted MTN's ***** division telephonically yet again on December 1, 2023, and spoke with Tshegofatso, requesting that she block any package device order delivery made in my name on this MTN account. She confirmed that a package delivery was scheduled and assured me that she would escalate the issue to MTN deliveries to cancel the delivery and list it as *****. 4. I sent multiple emails to MTN's ***** division, Complaints, Customer Care, and escalation rewards, flagging the contract as *****ulent and highlighting the cancelled WiFi Modem account used in this *****. Dinesh from MTN's Complaints Management Team responded to my email on December 2, 2023, confirming that there was no active contract on my profile and that I did not owe MTN. He also stated that the R3.47 reflected as a carry-over balance had been written off. 5. On December 4, 2023, I contacted MTNs' ***** division yet again and spoke to Nothando, reiterating the ***** report I made on December 1. I informed her to cancel any package deliveries scheduled in my name or the contract application in question. I also provided her with additional personal security answers as required and my identity information as well as bank account type and my contact telephone number were confirmed, and I reiterated to her that the mobile contact number +***4 (*****ster’s) and delivery address listed on the ***** account were not mine. 6. Furthermore, on Tuesday 5 December 2023, | contacted the MTN ***** division once more and spoke to Xoli notifying her of the same ***** report submitted to MTN and calls made to which she confirmed that my communication with the ***** division since Friday, 1st December 2023 were recorded on the system this including the request for MTN not to issue any package or device delivery orders on my name. Herewith, are the reference numbers issued by the MTN ***** division upon reporting of the case, *** by Nothando and *** by Xoli. 7. On December 4, 2024, at 15:24, received another email from MTN Couriers/DSV, notifying me that an order *** in my name was packed and ready to go. This was after my call with Nothando (Ref no.***).

I contacted DSV and spoke to Sindiswa at their Head Office number ***, which was provided in the email. I requested that they not not deliver the package and flag the order as *****, as I did not apply for such a contract with MTN SA. Sindiswa informed me that the order was still in the MTN Warehouse in Midrand and that she would report on the DSV side that it had been reported as *****. However, she mentioned that she did not have the power over MTN Courier processing of this order. Since then, no update has been provided by MTN ***** Team on this matter.
