Contract and Promises not honoured

I received a few calls from MTN urging me to upgrade/renew my contract in July. After considering the option, I decided to renew upgrade on the 27th of July. The agent stated that he was from MTN Direct and that the offer that they were giving me was a MTN Direct exclusive. Basically the 10G free data & unlimited MTN to MTN calls for the first 3 months after the upgrade.

The phone was promised to be delivered within 14 days of accepting the contract and that I would have at least two weeks after delivery of the phone in which to terminate the upgrade.

Today is the 29th of August and I have no news regarding the delivery of my phone. I have been sent from pillar to post after calling 808, ********** , ********** , 0 ********** 41, ********** , ********** . Nobody wants to take responsibility and I keep getting transferred and given another number to call.

I even visited the Canal Walk MTN Centre on Sunday 27th August and was just given the ********** to call stating that one of the supervisors there will be able to assist me. The supervisor there gave me the tel nr ********** to call - a nr that doesn't exist....

I would like to cancel my contract/upgrade and have already been receiving my free minutes/data which I only wanted when I received my new phone so that I can use the minutes and data effectively for the apps etc that I want downloaded on the new phone.

I would like this matter escalated to someone senior that is able to assist me or I will be forced to cancel my contract, this after being a loyal customer for at least 12+ years.

I have never been given the run-around like this before and this is probably the worst customer service I have received from a corporate to date.

I trust that I will be contacted shortly to have my problems sorted out.

Regards

Hi Kabelo, your response does not assist me at all, all it asks is for me to be patient. Could you please arrange for someone senior to call me in order for me to fully state my problem and how it can be resolved. After being sent from pillar to post, I would at least expect to be able to state my case to see if this can be resolved without me having to cancel my contract. Please advise. Paul

Hi, I am still awaiting feedback and have been very patient up until now. I will probably have to use the The Consumer Goods and Services Ombud to get this matter sorted out as I am not getting any joy from MTN or their services provider that they used to sell this upgrade. Please advise Paul

Hi MTN, Hi, I am still awaiting feedback . I have now been forced to go the route of the ICASA Complaints & The Consumer Goods and Services Ombud to get this matter sorted out. I have not even received a call from you to try and sort out the matter.
