Contact cancellation

My name is Ryan Lowe, my email address is **********
And my cell number is ********** 216

Firstly while im typing this out, let it be know that I an still on hold.

My contract was up for renewal

So due to my financial situation I decided not to upgrade but go from contract to pay as you go, seems simple.

Last time I did this I could do it at the store and was less of a hassle.

Now however I have to call there number and be put on hold up to an hour or more it has been sometimes.

Finally I got lucky and the picked up

Then they told me about this other option that was 55 minutes that was cheaper, I asked about it and they said I can cancel at any time, having been told that I decided it was fine and went with that. Latter that day I get an sms saying my new contract will expire in two years from now.

I go to an mtn store to get a face to face confirmation. Firstly the guy didn't even seem to know I was there where I was placed to sit and wait for him to finish what i assume was a personal can from his own cell phone and when he finally got talking to me I told him my situation, he seemed to have no idea about the contract I was put on so I asked him to please check, he goes on his computer types out something I assume that gets him in to a system that would check and then he gets another call that also seemed personal from my perspective. When he asked for my number I gave it to him and he just confirmed what I thought was just an error, he also said that I can't upgrade my or cancel my contact until 2019

I call mtn again. Get through ( this is the call that I was currently on hold for from the start of this message, total time of it was 46 minutes)

I tell them to cancel the current contract that I was misled into and just to put me on a pay as you go contact. They do so then ask if there is anything else, so I enquire about the data bundle my girlfriend got me which was 1 gig of data ( last time I canceled my contract, any data or airtime I put in that wasn't part of the usual contract bundle would carry through to my pay as you go phone with the same number). They say that no will be cancelled and I must use it today or it will be voided tomorrow. So now because I couldn't go to a store, see all the details in front of me and make a careful decision to cancel my contact and avoid confusion from myself and mtn. instead be placed in to false assurances, they have wasted my time, my petrol, my money and my patients.

After this long and painful experience, i have lost complete faith in mtn

They do not updated there customers on what goes on about how they changed there services

Face to face with customers seems to be something they want less of

They would rather confuse and mislead people with out fully explaining the whole terms

And lastly I think that with any contract there must be a signature for an upgrade not just security checks that seem to automatically be used as a legal yes, essentially before they can activate it.

I'm annoyed and this experience has left a foul memory that will always be apart of my life
