Conned into a 24 month contract & Consultants who never get back to you

My contract expired a good couple of months ago. I wasn't ready to upgrade at the time and was waiting for 3 to 4 months before I took a new phone and upgraded. I did want to see if I could switch to cheaper monthly rates until I upgraded as my contract was already on a month to month cycle.

I spoke with Sonwabo Ngubombi ********** and I stressed to him that I wanted a cheaper tariff for 3 to 4 months before I upgraded for/to a new phone. The upgrade in 3 months was the MAIN and only point that I stressed to him and I said that I wanted to get an S7 in a few months. He assured me that it will be possible and we went ahead.

Now I find out that he gets commission for any 24 month contract and not for a month to month deal which is probably why he conned me into a 24 month contract. Now for me to upgrade I have to pay in 2 months on my current contract to change it. This is absolutely ridiculous and NOT what I asked for.

To make matters worse I went into the MTN store at Canal Walk and spoke with Jean-Lee Smith ********** He never had a clue what he was doing and was extremely unhelpful. The consultant sitting next to him was giving me all the advice. I had to beg him to send an email to a certain department, he wouldn't do it as Sonwabo was back the next day. He wouldn't let me see the contract either and was just constantly passing the buck. He assured me Sonwabo would reach out to me on Wednesday and he emailed him on Tuesday to tell him to call me. Obviously he never called me and I mailed both of them twice and neither of them responded.

I've had this contract with MTN for 15 or 16 years and am appalled at the poor quality service from a few of their staff.

Vodacom, Cell C anyone if you see this please reach out to me so I can move over to you guys as I've had enough of MTN. I'm willing to move my families contracts over as well.
