Conned by MTN Employees into paying for Rica and a Sim Swap

So on Saturday, I walked into an MTN in Sunnyside to get a sim card Rica'd and to do a sim swap. upon requesting these they told me that it was R20.00 to Rica. shocked by this I then asked why, becuase I was informed it was free. They gave me a long explanation and in the desperate attempt to get my previous number back as i needed it, i agreed.

when about to begin getting my card RICA'd I was asked what else i needed done and i told them sim swap, to which they told me it was R50 for that. they said this is the rate and that in total i would need to pay R70 for both... This i refused. the employees then said they cannot help me if they cannot receive payment. This was entriely new to me. but as i was considering this one of the employees told me that they can do it all for R50.00. Again bells rang in the back of my mind that im being conned, as i know these services to be free with MTN, but as i needed the sim card to be active ASAP, i ignored them and paid the fee. as i left, i saw the employee put the money into his pocket and that made me smell the coffee and see how these employees conned me to do a job they are already paid to do.

The following day, after you kn, paying for free services, i expected my nmber to be all set up and that i could have my number back, but was utterly shocked when it still had the original number the sim card paid with. This is when i called mtn after it was successfully RICA'd to find out aboput the sim swap, and was instructed to wait 24 hours as the request is still being proccessed. it has now been 72 hours and my number has not been restored, after the call centre assured me it would all be good to go on monday morning.

I had left MTN for reasons like this and wished to return because the number in question is tied to a lot of important accounts which when i tried to port my number to another service, it never worked and was perpetually in processiong. is it going to be the same for the Sim Swap that i actually PAID for?

you tried to call once while I was in a meeting and didn't bother to leave a message... I've been trying ever since the day i posted, with no luck whatsoever. I tried the 135 option twice. the first time they told me to wait, as it was still being processed, the second time I'm told that the numbers I provided do not appear on the system. why were the numbers accepted the first time but not now? I provided exactly the same numbers cause I knew it was numbers i used frequently. I got off the phone with a representative and they informed me that the number has been recycled? yet when I was in the store doing the sim swap the person did not inform me of this? like seriously, this is unacceptable. your agent went as far as to say "you should have let us know you were leaving the country." after explaining to her why I'm only doing a sim swap now. Changing this to a 1 star.
