Complaint. Worst service
For the past 4 years I have had 5 contracts with MTN. These contracts were not running concurrently. Some were ending before others. The problem started when MTN started to debit more than the contracted amounts without any notifying me the reasons and effective date for the changes. That's when I canceled 2 contracts which had already ended in March 2020 and changed my payment method from debit order to EFT. On the 25th of June I got confirmation that my contracts are set to be canceled.
Even after I had gotten confirmation that my contracts were canceled, MTN kept Billing me for contracts that I had canceled and kept debiting my account. In August 2020 MTN started to suspend my lines. Each time I made enquiries, none of the agents could explain to me why.
I then logged a complaint on MTNs Facebook page and the lines were not suspended for a couple of months however I kept receiving messages that my account is in arrears that I am not aware of. Each time I'd visit a branch, they would send me to their contact center. When I call client care, the agents can't explain to me what's going on.
In February 2021, I spoke to Ntando who explicitly told me that she can see that my contracts were canceled, she also doesn't understand why I am being billed for something that I canceled. She said she'd do investigations then get back to me but she didn't. Ntando gave me the following reference number for my enquiry ***.
The following are some of the reference numbers for some of the queries I have made to MTN regarding this problem
