'Complaint - MTN Play Harvest Frenzy'

'Complaint - MTN Play Harvest Frenzy'

Good Morning All,

I have also just been subscribed by these idiots. It is unfortunate that MTN (and probably Vodacom and Cell C) are not being responsible Service providers, especially with the latest "data must fall" being in the news in parliament.

I called MTN on 173 to complain regards this issue: this was their response:

1. I narrated the problem of being registered / subscribed to the 'MTN play harvest frenzy. Cost R1/day. For help call + ********** 7985' service without my being aware, and also how much was debited and also requested what remedial action could be taken.
2. I spoke to MTN service provider Shaheed Goopal who was very helpful, first time deducted was 25 January 2017 to today 24 February 2017 the total being R30 for the period. I noted that there were other subscriptions from 2015 as well. I asked how was I subscribed - Shaheed advised that it was possibly through me dialling *123# or clicking on an SMS, or logging on to the MTN play service on the website. Shaheed very kindly advised that he would escalate my query to find out 1. How I was subscribed, and 2. What the total cost I had paid over to MTN since 2015. My ref number for the call is SMC/ ********** 4335 - Feedback is given when there is feedback from the legal department. There is also an complaints porthole where you can plug in the REF number and therefore get an email and followup on the complaints you may have. Shaheed send me a customer care email to log this complaint - **********
There is power in numbers, therefore I am suggesting that we create a whatsapp group (Maybe we can call it 'MTNPlayHarvestFrenzy' or 'WASPSMustFall' or 'MTNmustfall' or 'mobiledatamustfall'), anyone who has been subscribed to these services to please provide me with their whatsapp cell phone numbers, when we have over 1000 people who are affected we can engage the services of a pro-bono lawyer who will take up the matter in the courts. This will have a negative impact on MTN / Cell C / Vodacom image, and we will not be unnecessarily subscribed to these thieving WASPS.

My main problem is that I am being subscribed to this R1 per day service unknowingly, and MTN is collecting the money daily from my pay as you go account. If MTN does not want to listen to us we will hit MTN where they will feel the pain - on your bottom line with your shareholders, which also might include a class action legal suit, bad publicity, and VERY VERY upset patrons.
Enough of this ******* let us take some action and hit MTN / Vodacom / Cell c where they will be forced to make a change and become a better corporate citizen!!
