complaint MTN Boulders Midrand
On the 7th March 2016 I booked my Sony xperia z1 for repairs at the mtn store boulders Midrand. I was only advised to take the charger with the phone and it was confirmed prior that the phone was still within the 2 year warranty. The lady that was assisting me her name is Nontando, she chewed gum loudly while I sat in front of her for an hour. She struggled to book the phone using her pc therefore continued to ask her colleagues for help. Thereafter her printer would not print the form, so we then had to complete a manual form. I asked if there was anything else I needed to know or be made aware of and she advised there was nothing else, I will be contacted advised what is wrong with the phone as it is still on warranty. On the 6th April 2016 I received an sms from repair centre stating the following: dear customer IMEI no. *** has been assessed. Quotation- R1294. 7incl vat. Job card no. ***. Reply no to reject R330 service charge applicable to quote rejections. I then continued to receive the above sms on a daily basis. I contacted the repair centre and spoke to Lefa who said that there was water damage and that amount is payable as it does not fall under warranty. I questioned as to why I was not informed about this when booking the phone. Lefa said that I should go back to the store and it's the customers responsibility to pay the R330 or else the phone would not be sent back to the store on rejection of repairs. On 19th April 2016 I went back to the store in boulders midrand spoke to the sales consultant again about why she did not inform me to the T&C's. She then phoned the repair centre and was informed of the same. Nontando informed me she would pay the R330 and get my phone back but will not book any customers phones for repairs again. I asked her but is that not her job, she rep**** sarcastically that she doesnt want to book phones for repairs as now she has to pay from her pocket. At no point did she even say Sorry . A week later I received a call from her informing my phone has been delivered back to the store unrepaired, and Nontando asked me if I paid the R330 as she was so surprised the phone is back there and I can come to collect it unrepaired. My complaint is: the terrible service at this store and the manner at which the service consultant spoke to me being a client as well as the lack of product knowledge and attitude. I think it is only fair that the store gets this phone repaired as they have wasted my time and have given me a run around. I have made the manager of the store aware of this complaint and I have logged it on the customer complaints mtn email adress , I have not received a response from anyone yet.
