Complaint against MTN

I currently have a cellphone contract with MTN. On the 11th of February 2022 I received numerous SMS and email notifications indicating someone trying to open contracts under my name without my permission. I immediately went to the nearest MTN store to report this matter. They did confirm that indeed someone had already made two online applications for cellphone contracts under my account. They advised me to do an affidavit and a certified copy of my ID so that they could log a ***** case for me. I did that and they submitted everything to their ***** department. I came back a week later or so to follow up on this case and to my surprise, only one application was stopped and the other one was still open. So, they had to resubmit the documents and request the second application to be stopped. Few days before end of March, I received my monthly billing statement which reflected a ********** device. I went to the nearest MTN store to report this and they did confirm that the device was from the ********** account. While I was in the store, another SMS notification came through indicating that again someone is trying to do online applications under my account. The store had to assist me logging another ***** case to these two applications. A week later or so I received a call from that MTN store which has been assisting me with theses cases from day one to advise me that MTN managed to close the two ca s but were not sure about the turnaround time for the refund. However, till to day MTN continues to bill me from this ********** account and there has been numerous follow ups and I haven’t been cleared to date. I have reported this matter to my legal representatives to assist me with mediation process and there has been numerous interactions between MTN and them. I have submitted all the information that they requested from me but still MTN has failed to resolve this case. My legal representatives have tried to escalate the matter to ICASA but unfortunately they advised that the matter is beyond their jurisdiction and advise to contact NCC.
