Complaint about poor service delivery.

On May 31, 2023, I visited the MTN store in Somerset West Mall in Cape Town to settle my phone contract with MTN. I was then told to call customer care line and make arrangements to pay and on the same day i **** a call and spoke to an assistant who identified herself to me as Nyadzawela. She them told me how much i needed to pay. After having paid said amount, she told me to email the proof of payment to her email address ***.

on the 1 of June 2023, I paid an amount of R3892.93 which is the amount I was told to pay before the account was settled. I then emailed the proof of payment to *** as I was told.

The email was successfully sent.

During January 2024, MTN deducted money from my account. I immediately called customer care to find out and I was told that my account was never closed as requested. i was then told that I owed MTN money. Told the person who was assisting me that it could not be true because I settled my account in 2023 June.

Please see the attached proof of payment as attached and my communication with MTN agents regarding this matter.

I find it very disturbing to be told that I owe MTN money. This irresponsibility is causing me to have a bad credit record. I request that this be sorted out urgently.

I only found out in 2024 January that my contract with MTN was not canceled as I requested, which was after six months from the day of settlement. When I settled my contact, I made it clear to the consultant that I want it to be canceled.

Now what is strange now is that, the amount has escalated to R2690, 75. I have been logging complaints with MTN and sending them countless e mails regarding this issue, but they do not care, instead, they have sending from pillar to post.

This matter has ruined my credit profile.
