Complaint about MTN The Glen and contract on account which should have been cancelled

I have been with MTN since 1997 and I have NEVER received the service I received now recently. The branch I dealt with was MTN The Glen and the person I dealt with was Patricia.

I've been going to MTN The Glen for a number of years now as their service use to be great and I deal with Patricia every time, but after what happened now, I will not make use of that branch again, they are useless and they don't get back to a person.

I went in on 9 December 2017 to take out a contract on a tablet. I wanted the Samsung Tab E, the contract is R169 per month. Patricia said they don't have stock of the tablet and will phone around to find one and she did the application in the meantime. She gave me a number to phone her on to follow up.

Two weeks went by with no phone call, not even a courtesy call to let me know she is still trying to find stock. I phone the number numerous times, but they just don't answer.

After driving up and down to the store a number of times, just to be advised by Patricia that she is still searching for stock, I went back AGAIN on 8 January 2018. By this time I was desperate and panicking as I needed the tablet by the end of the week. She said they only have stock of a Samsung tablet, but the contract is R499 per month. I said we must go ahead with that. She then said she will have to send an approval through to up my credit limit and she will let my know.

By the morning of the 9th of January, she still didn't phone me and I decided to contact other branches. I phoned MTN Bedford Centre and they could help me with the Samsung Tab E for R169 per month. This is the original tablet I wanted, so I really don't know how hard Patricia 'searched' for stock? I went through, signed the necessary documents and within two hours I received feedback that the contract has been approved. I took delivery of the tablet on 10 January. After 12 on 10 January, I EVENTUALLY received a call from Patricia to advise me that the contract of R499 has been approved. I advised her I came right at MTN Bedford Centre, I no longer need the R499 contract and tablet. She then said 'So I have to cancel the contract', to which I rep**** 'Yes'.

Today I received my account and there is an amount of R500 on my contact which is for the R499 tablet. Firstly, I agreed with Patricia that she must cancel the contract, obviously ONCE AGAING SHE DID NOT DO HER WOR**** Secondly, how can I be charged for a contract if I never signed for delivery of the tablet???

I am really very upset about this whole situation, I work on a tight budget and now I am R500 short due to the incompetency of MTN The Glen and Patricia as well as the Accounts for deducting money for a contract without a signature for proof of delivery!!!

I spoke to the Call Centre this morning, not receiving any joy, until I spoke to a Manager who said he will send the cancellation request through to the relevant department. He gave me a complaints e-mail address which I e-mailed my complaint to, but I received a reply 'The recipients mailbox is full.' What is the use of sending an complaint if the mailbox is full???

I want URGENT feedback on the matter and I want the money in my account, not in 10 days or so, not a credit on my account, I want the money in my account ASAP!!!

MTN The Glen is the WORST branch who don't get back to customers which reflects very bad on the whole of MTN. MTN The Glen must get some lessons on Customer Service from MTN Bedford Centre.
