Cheated in a contract

I opened up a new cellphone contract with MTN and I am so disappointed in this contract I have. I feel like I have opened this contract under false pretenses.

I queried the amount I had to pay for the first month so many times and I was told that I will not be charged for the days I didn't have the phone and yet I'm invoiced for it, I also recall asking the consultant if there was any other charges and he told me no. Now that I received the invoice I see I am paying an additional promo fee that I wasn't aware of. The consultant knew from the very beginning that I had a Vodacom contract and I wanted a SIM swop, he even advised how to go about cancelling with Vodacom to move to mtn.

It is now a problem because I shouldn't have gotten the phone until my Vodacom number was available on prepaid, my number needs to be moved to contract and from what I understand, I'll loose out on any data and airtime I currently have as well as my network will be switched off for a period of time. He should of explained this to me and he didn't. I am now paying for a phone I am not using properly because I was waiting for my Vodacom number all the time.

As a consultant I would of expected him to look out for my best interest, instead he only looked out for himself and just wanted to get the sale!

I don't know why he activated the phone and sim immediately instead of waiting until I was ready and confirmed him to go ahead.

Now I know why Vodacom is so expensive, you pay for the service they give you, unlike MTN, you pay for complications and inconvenience to your life.
